Wuhletal
Parks
Nr. 230 · Köpenick, Marzahn
The image of east Berlin: grey and full of Plattenbau apartment buildings. A walk through the valley of the Wuhletal river completely changes that perspective, especially on a summer day. The starting point (S-Bahnhof Ahrensfelde on the edge of the city) is indeed not very promising, and on several occasions during the trail it is advisable to ignore the pipelines.
But as a reward you get a magnificent, 15 kilometre long trail along nice vistas, passing lakes and slow neighborhoods and also one of the most beautiful parks of Berlin if you would be interested. As a dessert, after arriving at final destination S-Bahnhof Köpenick, you could also have a short look at the old centre of this part of town, where I moved myself in January 2024.
