Uferbahn

Architecture
Nr. 218 · Elsewhere

After World War II the tram network in the western part of the city was rapidly torn down. In the east it remained, and still is, the most important means of transport.

The Uferbahn is one of the most scenic drives. Immediately after leaving the S-Bahnhof Grünau stop, it dives into the forest. It continues along the borders of several lakes for kilometres in a row and ends in the small village of Schmöckwitz, where time stood still. Make a walk at the borders of the lake and join the tram on the way back whenever you feel like!
