The debate about the best coffee places in town is nowadays almost as vivid as the discussions about the best currywurst. When it’s about coffee beans, The Barn stands a pretty good chance for the top prize.

The owners go out of their way for the ultimate taste experience. No sugar and a careful selection of beans are already quite a thing, but heavily purified water and other rarities do seem a bit too much. The ‘please no laptops, no baby cars’ policy is a huge relief though, and to see how filter coffee slowly drips down is an experience in itself.

Because of its success, The Barn has expanded to several locations in the city and beyond (Munich, London and Dubai, amongst others). One of the Berlin branches is a big location at Schönhauser Allee. In the meanwhile, the debate about the best coffee place in town continues…
