Rüdersdorf-Hangelsberg

Walking
Nr. 172 · Elsewhere

Only the tram 88 that takes you from Friedrichshagen to Rüdersdorf, right through little suburbs, stretches of forests and along the lake, is worth the visit. This journey can easily compete with the more famous Uferbahn.

And we didn’t even talk about the hike. Because if you leave the village of Rüdersdorf southbound, along the Kalksee, you can make a small detour to the Kranichsberg watchtower. It has beautiful views of the lush green surroundings of Berlin. You also learn about the movie history of the village, you can even still find some old filmsets.

Along the Flakensee the road continues east, where you get the option to eat a well-deserved meal. The landscape changes dramatically in the Löcknitztal. At Fangschleuse you can still get back to Berlin with a regular public transport ticket (ABC-zone), after a 4 to 5 hour walk. If you continue to Hangelsberg, you will need a separate train ticket.

(the route is described in the book 66 Seen Wanderung from Trescher Verlag)
