How often do you get the chance to swim in an Olympic pool? In Berlin it turned out to be possible every single summer. Directly adjacent to the Olympiastadion are the rotting stands of the swimming pool. If you lay there on the concrete you get an astonishing view, with the stadium towering over the swimming facilities. Don’t go there for the facilities, comfort or quietness. Go there to get a taste of history.

The stands and some of the facilities have now been under renovation for many years (status: 2026). But the swimming pool is still open for visitors, only in summer of course.
