Columbiahalle

The former sport- and event location of the American army, that was based in the adjacent Tempelhof airport, became vacant in 1994. An entrepreneur took his chance and converted the Columbiahalle into a concert venue for up to 3000 people.

Just like the smaller Columbia Theater on the same premises, this venue mainly focuses on rock, though bigger names from electronic music such as The Knife also tend to pay a visit. Not strange: the atmosphere is intimate because of the huge balcony, and the audience can entertain itself before the show in the biergarten.
