8mm

The line between no-nonsense and wannabe-hip is thin in Berlin. As far as I'm concerned, 8mm stays just on the right side of the line.

The decor is minimalist and very dark. It couldn't be otherwise, because the projector has to be able to display the films endlessly on the wall. Without sound.

Indeed, in 8mm, the film is the backdrop. The music is alternative rock. Smoking is the norm. And the American owners are averse to the hipsterdom that often reigns on Schönhauser Allee.

Occasionally there are small concerts as well, buy your ticket in advance.
