On the eastern edge of Berlin, opposite the Treptower Park, is this memoriaal site. It is a cemetery for 5.000 Russian soldiers that died during the liberation of Berlin in 1945.
As usual for communism, the scale of this monument is not really modest. Halfway is a hill with two marble constructions that almost touch each other. At the end of the terrain is huge statue. From the street side you can’t even notice that one of the biggest and most impressive war memorials of the city is hidden in the forest.
