Once you enter the former chemical factory in Rüdersdorf, 30 kilometres away from Berlin, yourmouth just falls open. The concrete ceiling towers above you, there is dust everywhere, former tanks are decorated with fantastic graffiti pieces by artist Plotbot Ken. And when you climb upstairs, you are literally shaking.
Rüdersdorf is still being used as a location for shooting movies, amongst others Enemy At The Gates and The Monuments Men. It’s a long trip, but quite easy to get inside. After that, it is a playground for urban explorers, for people that like to visit abandoned buildings. There are several big halls, you can climb on the roof, you can even swim and often you are on your own. Insane place.
