So typical for Berlin that the works of the world famous architect Frank Gehry are hidden behind facades. Too wild for this metropolis, unfortunately. At Brandenburger Gate you first have to pass the doors of the DZ Bank to see the otherworldly elements he created there. And in 2017 the Pierre Boulez Saal opened, but you won’t see that if you pass the building.
The Pierre Boulez Saal is instigated by the famous director Daniel Bärenboim. It’s a place for classical music, jazz and exciting cross-overs. It has place for around 700 visitors, who sit in two oval shapes draped and twisted above eachother. Extremely intimate, with awesome acoustics, it is one of the best places in the city to enjoy music.
