The few unrenovated industrial areas still left in Berlin are mainly in Schöneweide. Not far away from the Bärenquell Brauerei is the VEB Berliner Metallhütten und Halbzeugwerke, a former factory on the southern border of the Spree river.
Nowadays the terrain has almost completely been flattened. But some of the buildings have survived for now and are even more impressive. Especially the old theatre, in the nineties apparently well-known as concert venue Cisch, is magnificent in its long-gone glory. It’s unclear whether the buildings will survive the next wave of construction.
