The southern part of Neukölln was a no-go-zone until a couple of years ago, and people from Mitte would still stand out awkwardly within the very multicultural inhabitants of this neighborhood. But the area around Karl-Marx-Strasse is full of hidden gems.
The small farmers village of Rixdorf is one of them, the Körnerpark another. The Heimathafen is a worthy addition to that list, because the classic venue is ideally suited for smaller gigs. If you enter the big room after walking through the inner courtyard, you get the feeling you’re entering the roaring twenties again.
