Funkhaus

Without a doubt one of the most beautiful buildings of Berlin, tucked away in the far east of the city on the borders of the Spree river. The complex doesn’t expose its beauty from the outside, but once you are inside the halls of the former DDR radio studios the experience is overwhelming.

In the old days there was a big hall which hosted a complete orchestra and audience, with huge columns and magnificent acoustics. Adjacent is a dark square brown hall that is almost as beautiful. The complex is nowadays occasionally being used for concerts, conferences and other events. A must-see! At the waterside is also a branch of Zola pizza, one of the best (and expensive) in the city.
