Wedding is increasingly popular, and the Uferhallen along the borders of the tiny Panke river are a shining example. The complex features artists workshops and a dance studio, but the building on the opposite side of the street is at least as interesting.
You can find more artists workshops there, but also The Base (an indoor soccer arena by Adidas) and Cafe Pförtner. The latter is easily recognisable because of the old bus, that serves as part of the bar. The brick part of the building is just as cosy, and is mainly used for dinners. As long as Wedding doesn’t become too hip, this is a great place to be, but don’t be surprised when everyone here only talks English in a couple of years.
